Team Teach case study
Product development, proposition design and digital transformation
Team Teach is one of the UK’s leading providers of behaviour support and de-escalation training, working with schools, healthcare organisations, and care settings. Its training programmes help staff build safer, more positive environments through practical approaches to behaviour, communication, and crisis prevention.

The challenge
Team Teach had identified a significant commercial and educational opportunity: creating a subscription-based support platform that extended the value of its behaviour support training beyond the initial course. Research suggested there was strong demand from
educators and trainers for ongoing guidance, practical resources, and continued professional development after completing Team Teach training. But while the opportunity was clear, the product itself was not. There was no defined proposition, no platform, no content strategy, no technical infrastructure, and no clear integration with the wider Team Teach training model. The challenge was substantial:
-
Define and develop an entirely new subscription product from scratch
-
Create a compelling value proposition that complemented — rather than conflicted with — the existing training offer
-
Build and launch the platform within six months
-
Bring independent licensed trainers on the journey
-
Modernise the wider digital infrastructure to support future growth
Alongside the product launch, Team Teach also needed to overhaul its website and develop a new trainer hub to professionalise certification and membership management processes.
The approach
Proposition and Product Development
The first stage was defining what the subscription product should actually be. Working across product development, proposition design, marketing, and operations, the project focused on shaping a service that positioned behaviour support not as a one-off training event, but as an ongoing practice requiring continuous reinforcement, development, and support.
The resulting proposition became Team Teach Connect, a membership platform providing ongoing access to practical behaviour support resources, guidance, and professional development content. A key strategic challenge was positioning. The business decision had been taken to introduce a paid membership element alongside training. This created a delicate commercial and messaging challenge: ensuring schools and trainers perceived Team Teach Connect as a meaningful extension of support.
The positioning work reframed the offer around sustained implementation support: Team Teach training was not the end of the journey; it was the beginning of ongoing practice development. The membership fee was positioned as enabling continuous access to support, tools, and practical guidance that educators could apply immediately in real-world settings.
Building the platform
Following an assessment of internal capacity and delivery timelines, a strong recommendation was made to partner with an external agency to build the new membership and content hub. This enabled the organisation to move at pace while ensuring the platform could scale effectively. The project included:
-
Selecting and briefing the external development agency
-
Designing the platform structure and user experience
-
Defining how the hub integrated into the wider Team Teach ecosystem
-
Supporting implementation and launch delivery
At the same time, a distinct visual identity for Team Teach Connect was developed. The new brand needed to feel connected to the wider Team Teach identity while giving the subscription product its own recognisable presence. Working with an external designer, a dedicated identity system was created and rolled out across the platform, website, and launch assets.
Content strategy
A major part of the project involved defining what content would make the membership genuinely valuable. Drawing on previous experience working within educator membership organisations, the strategy focused heavily on practical, immediately usable resources. The emphasis was on:
-
Classroom-ready behaviour support guidance
-
Practical implementation advice
-
Ongoing professional development
-
Easily accessible support content that educators could apply immediately
This practicality became central to the value proposition and helped reinforce the ongoing support positioning.
Digital Transformation
Alongside Team Teach Connect, the wider digital ecosystem was modernised. This included:
-
Relaunching the Team Teach website
-
Improving revenue-generation capability
-
Enabling digital marketing activity for the first time
-
Creating a new trainer hub for certification and trainee management
The trainer hub became an important operational component, helping streamline processes while supporting membership activation and management for Team Teach Connect. Together, these projects significantly professionalised the organisation’s digital infrastructure and created a far more scalable commercial platform.
Stakeholder engagement and launch
A critical part of the project involved bringing Team Teach’s licensed trainers, effectively independent consultants, on the journey. Significant pre-launch work focused on:
-
Explaining the value of Team Teach Connect
-
Demonstrating how it enhanced trainers’ own offer to schools
-
Training them on the new systems and trainer hub
-
Supporting adoption and onboarding
This was delivered through:
-
Webinars
-
Email campaigns
-
Face-to-face events
-
Launch communications and onboarding support
The final launch phase also required substantial work, cleaning, and consolidating legacy customer data to ensure a smooth rollout and membership onboarding experience.
The outcome
The launch of Team Teach Connect successfully transformed Team Teach from a one-off training provider into a more continuous support and membership-based model. The project delivered:
-
A fully developed and launched subscription product within six months
-
A new digital membership and content platform
-
A redesigned website capable of supporting modern digital marketing activity
-
A new trainer management and certification hub
-
Strong trainer adoption and engagement
Commercially, the results were significant:
-
Team Teach Connect achieved 90% of its annual subscription target within four months
-
The new website generated a 200% increase in traffic
-
The website achieved 50% of its annual revenue target within its first quarter
-
The strengthened digital infrastructure helped support a successful business buyout 18 months later
Most importantly, the project repositioned Team Teach’s offer around ongoing behavioural support and professional practice, creating a stronger long-term relationship with educators, trainers, and schools.
